I made a post very similar to this about a year ago, but the message still rings true! Your time is so, so valuable, but don’t be afraid to give it to other people. God has given us so many days on this earth, and that begs the question of “how are we spending our time here?” Are we being selfish, or are we willing to spend time serving those around us?
Ansley Claire and I attended and volunteered at this gala once again, and it was such a joyous experience! We could have spent our Friday night so many different ways, but we chose to volunteer instead. Even though I’m not getting paid in that position, I look forward to it every single year because of the joy it brings. The memories we make are so much more valuable to me than money.

It has been 7,207 days since I was born. Obviously, I wasn’t volunteering my time as a newborn, but that’s a lot of days that the Lord has blessed me with. He has given me the capacity to serve, so why wouldn’t I serve those around me in anyway that I can?
“Be very careful, then, how you live—not as unwise but as wise, making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil.” Ephesians 5:15-16
As a college student, time management is key. I’ve learned how to manage my time for classes, but I also have to learn how to steward my time with the Lord!
If you are in this boat, then here’s a quick reminder: spending time with the Lord should never feel like a chore. If it does, then that’s because you have convinced yourself that you could be spending your time doing something else. Reality check! Your relationship with God is THE most important thing in your life. Don’t let this world convince you otherwise.
Friends, it is so important that you prioritize your relationship with God! He is the peace and the hope that you have been searching for. I encourage you, this week, to be intentional with how you spend your time! If you can spend hours on your phone, you can spend at least 30 minutes in the Word.
I hope this post encourages you to be mindful of your time! Even as I’m writing this post, I’m thinking about ways that I could improve because I am far from perfect at this :) I hope you all have an amazing week, and I’ll see you next Monday!
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
