Money can't fix this!
Importance of a personal relationship with God.
We’re going to start off by being blunt: the Kingdom of Heaven does not belong to those who put their value in their earthly life. Is this you? What are you putting above your relationship with Christ? Btw there’s actually nothing that is more important than Him!
Nothing we have will make us right with God - we have to have a personal relationship with Him! The Kingdom of Heaven belongs to those who are utterly dependent on Christ. Keep your hands free of the burdens of life so that you may receive the blessings God has for you.
“What must I do to inherit eternal life?”
You literally can’t do anything.
It is impossible for us to do anything to attain eternal life. The only way we get eternal life is by grace alone! Let go of earthly things (wealth, social media, etc.) so you can fully receive the love and goodness of Christ.
Mark 10:24-27 - “The disciples were amazed at his words. But Jesus said again, ‘Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for someone who is rich to enter the kingdom of God.’ The disciples were even more amazed, and said to each other, ‘Who then can be saved?’ Jesus looked at them and said, ‘With man this is impossible, but not with God; all things are possible with God.’”
Pitfalls that we fall into:
money and financial stability: when we believe our efforts will be rewarded by God; He is not obligated to bless us.
comfort and control: we like safety and predictability; we can’t give all our time and attention to these things.
family and our representation in the community: we can’t let this become more important than our relationship with God.
religious activity: church involvement does not equal spiritual surrender; you can be near church things but far away from God
Friends, this earthly life is not the one we are living for!! God has something so much greater in store for you, so don’t limit yourself to this temporary life. Instead, rely on God and build a relationship with Him. Everything you have is from God, so be willing to give it back.
I hope you all have a fantastic week, and I’ll see you next Monday!
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
