Monday faith! (what is it?)
Having faith even on days that are mundane!!
Hi friends, and welcome to my first official blog post of Sermon Thought Bubbles! The topic of Monday faith is one that is very near and dear to my heart as it is something I struggle with. This sermon was preached by Chip Henderson. For this blog post, we are going to be looking at 1Thessalonians 4:9-12!
In case you don’t have a Bible with you, I will type the scripture out!
“(9) Now about your love for one another we do not need to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love each other. (10) And in fact, you do love all of God’s family throughout Macedonia. Yet we urge you, brothers and sisters, to do so more and more, (11) and to make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you, (12) so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody.” 1 Thessalonians 4:9-12
Something that is important for us to realize is that God is working in and through our lives every single day! Just because God does not answer a prayer or provide a miracle on a daily basis does not mean we should be any less faithful towards Him!

There are 4 characteristics of Monday faith that I want to talk about:
Monday faith grows each day in love for people! (verse 10)
Since God is love, love should be pouring out of us constantly! We should be spreading love by sharing the gospel with others so that they may experience God’s love firsthand.
Monday faith desires to lead a quiet life! (verse 11)
We should not strive to live loud and boastful! Our goal is not to make the people of this earth like us; we should be living for God’s glory rather than the things of this world.
In order to lead a quiet life, you have to know who you are and what you were created for! “(12) Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience. (13) Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you.” Colossians 3:12-13
Monday faith minds its own business!
Gossip is something that a lot of people in today’s world are used to. Gossip is the opposite of minding your own business!! God does not call us to know everything about everybody; He calls us to share His Word and plant the seed for them to develop their personal relationship with Him! Only you are in charge of your faith walk with Jesus!
Monday faith works with your hands! (verses 11-12)
God calls us to work! It fulfills His design for us - God worked to create the earth, Jesus worked as a carpenter, Adam worked to watch over the Garden of Eden, etc. We cannot be lazy in our faith with God. We have to be willing to work and persevere through any hardships we may face!

Even though we may not see or experience big miracles everyday, we still have to have Monday faith because of everything (big or small) God has done for us! I pray that everyone reading this is able to further develop their Monday faith, and I pray that we praise God for everything He has done and will do in our lives!
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
