God is omniscient!
God knows everything, so let that give you peace!
“If our hearts condemn us, we know that God is greater than our hearts, and he knows everything.”
1 John 3:20
It can be a bit daunting to think about how God knows everything about everything, including you! Rather than letting that scare you, allow it to encourage you - you never have to feel alone because God knows you on such a deep and personal level. God knows your past, your actions, and your words, yet He never misunderstands you.
4 different responses to God’s omniscience:
your first response my be fear! Like it said, it can be a bit unsettling that God knows more about you than you do. Just know that you cannot fool God. He surrounds us, and protects us! David beautifully puts this into words in Psalm 32:3-5. “When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy on me; my strength was sapped as in the heat of summer. Then I acknowledged my sin to you and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, ‘I will confess my transgressions to the Lord.’ And you forgave the guilt of my sin.” God knows our sins, and He waits for us to acknowledge them as well. He knows every sin we will do, yet He forgives us!!
it should encourage you! God searches and He sees the treasure of His likeness in you! He tests you to build your faith, not to flunk you. Take courage in the tests because they will only make your faith and your relationship with Christ stronger. God sees your pain even when you can’t show it; you don’t have to pretend with God. Let this truth encourage you - you will always have someone in your corner; someone you can tell everything to! You will never have to hide anything because God already knows.
it should make you bold! Let God’s omniscience give you bravery. God is always within you, and He protects you. There is no way in for the enemy when you’re waiting with God. Have faith knowing that God will protect you when you make your stand. “The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear him, and he delivers them.” Psalm 34:7
it should inspire you to worship! We should be in awe of God’s omniscience and put out trust in Him. Find joy in the fact that God knows and loves you. “Before a word is on my tongue you, Lord, know it completely. You hem me in behind and before, and you lay your hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too lofty for me to attain.” Psalm 139:4-6
Let the omniscience of God give you peace. God provides for you because He knows what you need! Don’t be afraid of this truth, but let it be an encouragement to you throughout this week. I pray that each of you would have an amazing week filled with the Lord’s joy and peace. This was a short post, but it is full of truth, and I pray that it would be an encouragement to you. I’ll see you next Monday!
Now yesterday’s shame keeps saying that you’ll never get back on track, but what if I told you you’re one step away from surrender. One step away from coming home.
