God is all powerful - anything that seems impossible to us is possible for God! Jeremiah 32:17 states, “Ah, Sovereign Lord, you have made the heavens and the earth by your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for you.” Luke 1:37 states, “For no word from God will ever fail.”
3 truths to remember about God’s omnipotence:
God shaped your life, therefore your life has value! God uniquely put you together from the moment you were conceived. God is an artist, and He made you exactly as you should be in His image. “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.” Psalm 139:13 - God’s joy is in making everyone unique and different. You were made on purpose by God. God also created your soul! He gave you different gifts and abilities than everyone else. Remember that comparison is the thief of joy! Every child is different, and God created them to be unique too.
Life is not about doing your thing; it’s to do God’s thing with the gifts He has given us! Luke 7:30a states, “But the Pharisees and the experts in the law rejected God’s purpose for themselves.” You do have a choice on whether or not you’re going to reject or embrace God’s purpose for your life. 2 Samuel 5:12 states, “Then David knew that the Lord had established him as king over Israel and had exalted his kingdom for the sake of his people Israel.” God blessed David, so that he would bless other people too. If you reject God’s plan, you will ultimately lose the things you so selfishly hold on to. Your life is part of a bigger purpose. “For we are God’s handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” Ephesians 2:10 - God’s purpose for your life isn’t just about you. Live your life to fulfill what God has for you.
God’s power sets limits for your life! You have a time limit, load limit, emotional limit, etc. We will not live forever, so we have to make the most of the time we have now. It’s not about how long you live, it’s about how well you live. What you do now determines what you do for eternity. “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.” 2 Timothy 4:7
With everything that has been going on in the world this past week, I just want to let this post encourage you that God is still Lord over all, and He has power. Don’t let this week make you doubt God because that’s exactly what the devil has set out to do. I pray that each of you would find encouragement this week, and that you would not let the events from this week make you falter in your faith. I’ll see you next Monday!
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
You search me and know me. You know when I sit, when I rise. So you must know the choices I’ve made and the pain that I hide. But what if I saw me the way that you see me? What if I believed it was true? What if I traded this shame and self-hatred for a chance at believing you?
