Family is everything!
"If you never learn to honor your father and mother, you will never learn to honor God." - Charlie Kirk
Ever since I started college, I have been thinking about my childhood, and I realized how many things I have to be thankful for; one of those things being my family! My family has been with me through the hardest times in my life, and I don’t know what I would do without them. Whenever I go visit them from college, it’s always so hard to leave and go back to school. While it makes me sad to leave, I have to remember to be thankful that I have someone to miss. Not everyone has the best relationship with their parents, and God truly has blessed me in that aspect.
My mom truly is my best friend! She is the person I go to when I am at my lowest, and she always knows exactly what to say to make me feel better. She is my biggest cheerleader, and I’m so thankful for my relationship with her and everything she has taught me.
My dad is one of the funniest people I know! He can always put a smile on my face, even when I am not in the best mood. He always has a song for every occasion, and he is always in the mood to dance (especially the moonwalk!) My dad is such a hard worker, and I’m so incredible thankful for all he’s done for me.
My bother, while he doesn’t like to talk very much, is actually very caring! He doesn’t show emotion that often, but he will do anything to help me out. I’m so thankful that I have someone in college with me that I can turn to for guidance and advice regarding college life.
My family is my biggest inspiration for everything I do in my life. College has helped me see that. God has put it on my heart to show my love for my family because I feel like I don’t do it enough. We always say “I love you,” and it is something I truly mean. My family is so loving, and I thank God everyday for them. I am the type of person to reminisce on my childhood and get so sad because it is over. Growing up is hard because I know that I’m never going to permanently live in my house again, and I’m not going to be picked up from school by my parents ever again. There was a last time that my parents got to hold me, tuck me into bed, and drop me off at school. These types of memories sound pretty sad, but I’m so thankful for them. Those experiences and memories shaped me into the person I am today, and I wouldn’t be who I am without my family. Living away from my family has showed me how much I loved being around them. I’m so thankful for the time I get to spend with them, and I won’t take it for granted.
I am so thankful to be a part of my family, and I hope they know how much I love them and what they mean to me! I pray that everyone would find someone to be thankful for today! It doesn’t have to be a family member, but thank God for putting a specific person in your life. Everything God does has a purpose, so thank Him for what He has done!
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

You definitely have the sweetest family! 💗
