2024 recap!
Recapping the main ideas from this year's blog posts!
Happy New Year! 2025 is upon us, so I thought that we could end 2024 by recapping main ideas from this year! Seeing as I didn’t start this blog in the first week of the month, we have 32 blog posts to get to instead of the typical 52 (one of them being my intro post that I will not include in this post!). There has still been some incredible information shared within those posts, and I pray that we will carry this knowledge with us into the new year!
Let’s get started with our 2024 recap!!
Monday faith! (what is it?)
Have faith in the everyday, mundane moments! Just because you don’t see or experience a miracle everyday doesn’t mean they aren’t happening!
Monday faith! (how do I live it out?)
Choose faith in the hard moments, and be willing to do what God calls you to do! Your faith is noticed—have faith in every moment, and inspire other to do the same! Run with the right people! Other people can sense your faithfulness to God, and we are called to be stewards of God’s Word. Use your faith to lead others to Christ!
How to have faith when God tells us “no”!
Recognize that God has a higher and better purpose for us! Lean on God’s grace through tough situations, and remember that this earth is not our home!
“The Untouchables”
Don’t shy away from others because of their sins. You were in their same situation before Christ saved you! We cannot put ourselves on a pedestal for having a relationship with Christ! Instead, use your relationship with Christ to lead others to Him!
Fall into grace!
Remember that foolish choices carry consequences—nothing you do goes unnoticed! How you finish is more important than how you start. We are going to face temptations in this world, but turn to God in those moments! When you inevitably fall (because we are sinners in nature), fall into the grace God has given you!
Brownie points don’t get you to Heaven!
Busyness does not equal Godliness! Don’t mistake your good deeds as brownie points for Heaven—they are great, but you have to have a loving relationship with Christ to get there! Busyness is often rooted in fear! We are so afraid of not being good enough that we often try to prove ourselves! You don’t have to prove yourself to God because He knows you and loves you already! Prioritize Jesus and simplify your life! Don’t get caught up in your busy life that you forget to make time for Jesus.
How to pray like Jesus!
Follow His pattern for prayer! (Luke 11:2-4) Surrender and bless His name! Make your request! Be persistent, and claim God’s promise!
Should I stay or should I go?
Deciding to follow Jesus is a big decision, and it is not one to be taken lightly! Remember that we are in no position to demand anything from Jesus! He sacrificed Himself for us, and that was more than we deserved! Instead we should look to, go to, believe in, and live in Christ!
Practices of a grateful heart!
Recognize how God has blessed you! If you are reading this, then you have been blessed (you woke up this morning, you have eyes that work, you have the knowledge of how to read, etc.)! Fight the tendency towards ingratitude—it can be easy for us to take credit of our blessings, but everything we have is from God! Act out of a thankful heart! Show your thankfulness to God daily.
Getting a fresh start!
Trust God and His timing when trying to start fresh! Sometimes it can seem impossible, but nothing is impossible with God! Remember that fresh starts grow privately before they are felt publicly—if you want a true fresh start, then you are going to have to take some time to yourself to meditate on God’s Word!
God is everything we need!
God’s presence is a fulfillment of every need we have! Our goal in life is to know God and make God known. We can trust, rely, and count on God! He has always been there for you, and He always will be.
Living a Jesus-centered life!
Your salvation, identity, life, and authority is in Jesus! He has delivered you from the payment of your sins, and we are called to glorify Him and share this Good News to those around us! Live a life full of glorifying and praising Him for all He has done!
Jesus can use you right where you are!
Jesus saved people from their past, present, and future sins! Just because we give our lives to Christ, does not mean we are perfect. We are far from it. We are still going to sin, but the difference is that we know our debt has been paid, and we can ask for forgiveness from our Heavenly Father! Everyone is in a different stage of life, but God uses the most unlikely people to do incredible things!
Living with a Christian worldview!
God can reshape and reorder our lives for the better! The only way for us to get to eternity with Him is through Jesus Christ! The Christian worldview is heavenly and it is rooted in God. Our human nature wants to follow the world’s worldview, but God has saved us from that!
Christian Q&A!
This post covers a broad range of topics, and I encourage you to go back and read it or read it for the first time! There is some great information there!
Don’t take your life for granted!
I don’t know the plan that God has for my life! Because of that, I should take advantage of this time I have on earth and use it to share His Word. Your days are numbered, so use this time wisely!
Practical practices of a follower of Jesus!
Devote yourself to growing in the Word of God! Open and study your Bible every single day. Devote yourself to a life of prayer! Use your time of prayer as a conversation with God instead of a checklist of things to ask for. Devote yourself to loving connection and sharing what you have! Share your gifts—have it in your heart to give to those who are in need!
Family is everything!
God has put people in your life for a reason! My family has taught me so much, and for that, I am so grateful! Find someone to be thankful for because God has intentionally placed them in your life!
What is baptism, and why is it important?
Baptism is a public declaration to those around you that you have placed your life in Christ! It is an obedient expression of your faith and what Jesus did for you! Baptism is important because it is a response to faith, and it is a sign of your covenant with Jesus.
Your identity is in christ!
Rest in the grace you receive, your standing with God, God’s provision, and God’s confirmation. We already know how our story ends, so don’t get caught up in the things of this world! Your identity is in Christ, not the temptations and idols on earth.
Don’t stop praying!
Prayer is a conversation between you and God! If you don’t take time to hear God’s response, then you are just taking control. Sit in silence and allow God to respond to you—communication goes both ways.
Church problems!
There are 4 reasons why there is disagreement among us! We aren’t spiritually mature, we forget we’re teammates, we think we’re always right, and we want more. Our differences don’t mean we have to be divided. Everyone has different strengths and gifts from God, so use them to build each other up.
Be United!
This post was a reflection on an amazing night spent worshipping and praising the Lord! So, so thankful for Unite night on my college campus!
Listen to the Holy Spirit!
Learn to depend on the Holy Spirit—it empowers you! Listen to the Holy Spirit because it reveals to deep things of God! The Holy Spirit has transformed you, so live like it!
Emotions that can “ruin” college!
Confusion, frustration, insecurity, and being overwhelmed are all emotions that new college students face! Don’t let them ruin your college experience. We are supposed to feel new emotions in new situations, but turn them into a good thing, and learn from the people in the Bible!
Accepting spiritual correction!
Have a willingness to accept authority! We are servants of Christ, but we are to respect the authority placed on this earth unless they go against the truths of the Bible! Have a commitment to resist pride—live like Jesus did and follow His example. Have a humility that can receive discipline.
Give thanks!
There is always something to be thankful for no matter how big or small it may seem!
Our God reigns!
God has seen our struggles, but He is still coming back for us! (Romans 8:1) We can only get to Heaven by God and because of God alone! God all in with Jesus because He is the only way to eternity with our Lord!
You are His!
Your body is not your own! Your body belong to God the Father—you were bought with a price! You body is joined to God to Son, so stay pure! Your body is dwelt by the Holy Spirit! God has created you for a purpose.
Your hope is in Jesus!
Jesus knows we can trust Him, He knows there is a home waiting for us, and He knows that we was and will always be enough. The world likes to distort our view of God, but look to scripture, and let God speak to you! Do not be deceived by the things of this world!
Christmas through the eyes of a child!
Remember the “why?” behind the season of Christmas. Sure, presents and food is great, but we are celebrating the birth of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!! How amazing is that! Keep asking yourself why we celebrate Christmas because we need to be reminded everyday that we don’t deserve to be here! If life was fair, we would be hanging on a cross.
The Lord truly has moved through me and hopefully through you in 2024! He is so good, and I can’t wait to see how He will continue to move next year. I pray that you all have a safe and happy New Year! May the Lord continue moving in your life and guiding you through His plans! Have an amazing week, and I’ll see you next year! 🤭 (had to throw a dad joke in there!)
“I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” John 16:33
